Solution to Facebook error: Unsupported get request. Object with ID ' does not exist

Have you ever got an error with the following text when making your queries on Facebook?

Unsupported get request. Object with ID ' does not exist, cannot be loaded due to missing permissions, or does not support this operation. Please read the Graph API documentation at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api

Don't worry, here's why it happens and how to fix it.

What causes this error?

This is an error that Facebook sends directly when trying to process the query. The error indicates that you no longer have permissions for one or more Facebook objects (post, comment, ad...) found in the query, or that one of them has been deleted.

How can I fix it?

First of all, check that you have all the necessary Facebook permissions to run your query, both in Dataslayer and in the Facebook console.

On the other hand, in Dataslayer we have developed an option called "ignore pages permissions" (Skip object if fail due to lack of permission in Facebook insights). If you select it, all Facebook objects for which you do not have permissions will be ignored, and your query will be able to run.
